Data-Driven Chair Reviews

No sponsored rankings. No hidden agendas. Just objective data helping you find the perfect chair for your body and budget.

Why We Built SeatLab HQ

If you've ever searched for "best office chair," you've probably noticed something: the same chairs appear on every list, regardless of whether they're actually the best. That's because most "review" sites are just affiliate farms pushing whoever pays the highest commission.

We built SeatLab HQ to fix that. Every chair we review is scored on 11 objective criteria — from lumbar support to warranty length. No chair gets a free pass because of brand recognition, and no chair gets buried because they don't have an affiliate program.

The result? Chairs like the Haworth Fern and Steelcase Leap often outperform the heavily-marketed options on measurable metrics like adjustability, build quality, and long-term durability.

Our 11-Point Scoring System

Every chair is evaluated on these objective criteria, each scored 0-5:

1Price Rating
2Seat Depth Adjustability
3Height Adjustability
4Lumbar Comfort
5Armrests
6Upper Back Support
7Neck Support
8Breathability
9Material Quality
10Softness
11Warranty

Maximum score: 55 points (11 criteria × 5 points each)

How We're Funded (Transparency)

Yes, we use affiliate links. When you buy a chair through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site running.

But here's what we DON'T do:

  • Accept payment to improve rankings
  • Hide negative information about chairs
  • Rank chairs by commission rates
  • Publish sponsored "reviews"
  • Let brands edit our content
