Why I Built This
It started in 2014 when I began working from home full time. Long hours at the desk, plus gaming in the evenings - I needed a chair that could handle it all.
My first real chair was a used Herman Miller Aeron from 2004. Then I picked up a used Steelcase Leap from 2006. Both were over 14 years old when I got them.
Here's what blew my mind: those decade-old chairs were still more comfortable and better built than any brand new office chair I'd tried. That's when I realized most chairs are garbage - and the good ones are built to last generations.
That discovery started my journey. I've now tested dozens of chairs, from budget options to high-end ergonomics. I built this site to share what actually matters and help you skip the expensive mistakes.
What Actually Matters in a Chair
Lumbar Support
Built-in adjustable lumbar is non-negotiable. Pillows slip and don't provide real support. Look for 4-way adjustable.
Seat Depth & Width
Your thighs should be fully supported without the edge cutting into your knees. Most gaming chairs are too narrow.
Armrest Adjustability
4D armrests (height, width, depth, angle) prevent shoulder strain. Fixed armrests are useless for most people.
Foam Density
High-density foam keeps its shape for years. Cheap foam flattens in months. This is where budget chairs fail.
Recline & Tilt
Multi-tilt mechanism lets you rock while working. Locked recline is for napping. You want both options.
Breathability
Mesh backs stay cool. Leather looks premium but gets hot. Know your climate and preference.
